Hello All...

Is anyone out there using the Super Elite Turkey Vest? If so, would you mind answering some questions.

1- Does it have a game pouch, and if so, is it big enough to carry a larger turkey?

2- Does it have dedicated pockets for box, slates, strikers, etc.

3- Does it have pockets for such items as water bottles, gps units, etc.

4- How hot is it... it looks hot?

5- Is it comfortable?

6- Is it worth the price?

Thank You for any feedback.

Let's see if I can get this right:

1.Yes
2.Yes
3.Yes & No -Some pockets will double for these items
4.End of April in SC-Very Hot Up North-Okay
5.Yes until it rains-Then it is heavy
6.It's like a Neil Cost Call-Depends on if you want it that bad. It always did everything I asked it to do. I changed the cushion out for a 4" thick cushion, but the vest was very ergonomic (easy to use). sp?

However, I switched to a Bucklick Creek Turkey Lounger last year and was very impressed. Very cool, not heavy in rain (probably because of the padded straps), great back support, plenty of room for the kitchen sink. The most impressive feature was the heavy duty seams and construction. My Elite model is 5 years old and after the first year I was sewing everything back on it. However, they probably have better quality control now.?. Hope that helps and I do not own stock in Bucklick Creek.

I have the newer model that retails for around 100 bucks and has removable sleeves if you ever wanted to use it as a jacket. It has 20+ pockets designed for everything imaginable and a game pouch that will carry an ample sized bird. It is definitely worth the price considering that a turkey vest is one of the most important accessories to have. I sometimes forget where I put certain items because it has so many damn pockets!

Couple of my turkey hunting buddies have the SETV, and they like them; however, both have complained about the vest being hot when the warm spring weather comes. I have a vest type turkey vest like the SETV, and I have one with sholder straps. The one with sholder straps is much more comfortable, but the straps are not camo--the downside of it. I am getting a new vest this spring and I think it will be the Bucklick Creek Turkey Lounge that possum mentioned. All I have heard about it is good.

Nothing like hear-say evidence!

Thanks everyone...

I think that the Super Elite will not be a part of my turkey equipment. I can't stand to be over heated while chasing the old toms. I did see a new product on the market that sounds interesting.

It is the Epeards Turkey Bandoleer by Little Bighorn Outdoors ( www.little-bighorn.com ). By chance.. has anyone bought one?

I have the Super Elite and, I swear, there's so many pockets you could hide a body in that thing.

I'm not knocking the Super Elite Vest. I used it for many years. I just think the Bucklick has a better design. I looked at the Epeards and tried it on. I just didn't like the pocket and storage layout. Another plus for the Bucklick is that the "Pouches" unsnap from the shoulder strap frame so they can be put in your lap for easy access to all calls while you are sitting.

I got a big fanny pack with sholder straps that I got from BPS. It is redhead of course. It is roomy and has a well organized back pouch for calls, strickers, etc. The main pouch will hold a bunch of stuff, and its got pockets on the sides for water bottles. I wear it backwards so I don't break my calls when I sit down. May look odd coming through the woods, expecially the side view, but it is not hot and holds lots of stuff. I hook my cushion seat on my belt. Don't get me wrong, I got turkey vests and I am getting another one, but this fanny pack is nice when it is really hot.
