Crazy night. No dead pigs. More deer kept coming in and I kept having to shush them out. My position with the moon was terrible. It was like having a flashlight shining in the corner of your eye. I kept moving around my tree blind to have a limb block the light. About 9:30 I heard the pigs, at first I thought it was a bullfrog in the creek. But it got really loud the closer they came in. One loud pig must have been guiding in the piglets, I could hear the piglets squealing. They must have gotten next to the cedar trees right behind the feeder. I was ready, but then the grunting stopped and I never saw them. Next time I am either going to have the moon directly behind or in front of me. I could have been able to make a shot last night, I could see the crosshairs on my scope while looking at the feeder. It was spooky and kind of crazy, but it was fun. And you don't have to take the feeder down during deer season. I have not used the feeder for deer, did not really hunt them this year, but I will next year if I have to. It's the great state of Texas where they don't tell you what to do!!
My Texas property is looking better and better, Beware Canam, The Beasts come out during the Lenten Moon, all sorts of noctural creatures wonder the mistty grasses and meadows.
