Gentleman, I could really use some help in the area of finding hogs. I have only gotten 3 hogs on my own, never had a mentor, let alone someone bring me.

My areas i have gone were upper cottonwood, lower cottonwood, and our family ranch near tracy, CA. I have never hunted any other public land, but would love some info so i can share what i learn with our future hunters and so on.

I guess I'll chime in.

Had a falling out with my brother several years ago. He, just to piss me off, gave up a very productive spot in Wyoming that we hunted for several years to a group I no longer care to hunt with any more.

They set up camp right in the middle of the hunting area and pretty much chased all the deer out.
They took several dinky deer and then headed home.

I was pissed to say the least, but as Jesse says it's public ground.

I don't mind giving up info. It's up to the party I give it to, to burn some shoe leather and then try to snap the cap.

From middle CA north, i have met with other hunters, waitresses, motel clerks, gas station attendants, hwy patrol men and other law enforcement, business owners, rangers , wardens and many others who very generously give us tips on where to go. They rarely give GPS coordinates (lol), nor their very very special spots (except a few). Most of all, these places are a good start in country that is well worth exploring in order to find a true honey hole. I sure hope people don't stop doing that, because sharing and wishing each other luck, and enjoying our success and the success of others is why we do this!
