Just a tip I learned a few years ago. before you leave, pack a large or small zip lock baggie with valsoline soaked cotton balls. They work great for starting a fire. You put them uder your wood pile and they really spark up instantly. You can keep a small baggie of them in your hunting pack because they are super light.
they work great in cold and windy weather also.
