I have been shooting coyotes with 150g scirocos out of my 300rum and I accidentally ordered scirocos in 180g. I have been planning on using 180g bullets for my Colorado elk trip next year because of higher energy downrange, but I figured on Barnes X or Partitions. Just wondering if anybody had any stories about the scirocos and large game, I was thinking of sending 'em back but I figured I'd hear what you guys had to say. The only bad part I have seen is 75% wieght retention at high velocities, but then again I'm guessing 135g through the lungs doesn't feel too good.

Great bullet. Several friends killed elk last year with them in .300 RUM, a couple at quite long distances. Have been a nosler partition fan for years, but made the switch to the swift scirroco last year based on this performance.
Also spoke with a swift rep for a long time... about them and after much drilling he swore by them unless shots at very short distances were anticipated at very high velocity (eg. <50yards at 3000+fps).
So unless your hunting the timber and expect very close shots...
Good luck and let us know in the fall...

I was wondering how the Accubond will perform. I will try it in December on an Oryx hunt. I hear they are hard to anchor. So this will be a good test for the Accubond. Using 200 grs. in a .300 WSM. The Swifts interest me but the price has me thinking twice.
