Hunting for sheds has never been a priority of mine. But i have allways kept the ones i have found whilst hunting for various animals. It has allways seemd a waste to leave them laying there. But this site gave me the inspiration to go out 3 days ago to see what i could come up with.

First thing first. Here is my collection pre2003.It resides above my fathers 1967 Buik Riviera

,and i'm to scared to touch them at the moment incase i drop one on the car.

This is the area i picked for my first all out shed hunt.I was armed with a mountain bike ,binoculars,a drink, and a camera.

Lets get one thing straight,Where i hunt has a problem with fallow as a pest animal.More fallow than cow's in the paddocks, and that's not on.

This is the result of my first shed hunt venture.I was a very happy lad indeed.A few that i found were ones droped a few years ago,and there were alot of bucks still with their antlers on.The monsters have droped theirs. But that will take another trip to get into the thick bush for them. These were all in the open paddock.

My father said to have a look in a particular little grass patch because he saw a little set there 7 years ago,and when he went back for a look he couldn't find them.I did 7 years later .Stoked!!!

Another view of first shed hunt venture.I'm sory about the backround but the property has enough problems with a$@%$%hole poachers as it is,Without me publicising the fact on the net that it has a few deer.

Like i said this is only the begining.Alot more to come.

Jesse's Hunting and Outdoors has resulted in me making,Quail calls,Turkey calls,Buck calls,Tripods, feeders, cams. None of this sort of thing is present in Tasmanian hunting.

You guy's,All of you take it to another level, and for that i am greatfull!!!

I know mine are not Whitetail or Elk or mulies. But it's my geographical disposition that accounts for that. I just love points no matter what deer thay seem to be on. Pics and points hoorah!!!:JHO rocks:

wow, great shed pics.. thanks for posting them, I enjoyed looking at them. Is fallow deer the primary big game that you hunt?

We have fallow here in Texas (they were imported though, obvioulsy they are not native)

Good morning guy's.Fallow are the primary and only large game on the island.I'm pretty sure they were introduced in the early 19'ds 1930/1940.Over the last five years theirs been a bit of a population explosion on the properties i hunt. The dry spell brought them all out of the hills onto the farms,as well as some logging in the area's.I hunt this property under game management with 54 other people. It's 7,000 acre's,used for cattle farming.

Certainly not native!!!

Sorry for the miss information. But fallow were first introduced into Tasmania in 1836.They brought out chital deer aswell at that time, but they failed to establish a population.

I will be building 3 12ftx8ft sliding doors for the shed where the buick is.When i goto build that i will be able to get the majority of sheds down from their position, and arrange them for a pic.I have only ever found on average three a year. Some years more than others. But this site and it's members(deershed)have inspired me to go all out horn huntn.

Another view of my first all out shed hunt.My fathers jaw droped like a rock!
