Heya fellas,

I know there are a few of you out there who requested application packets for the Tejon Archery hunt. I haven't received ANY packets back yet. Need to start getting those things back in to me, soon. Deadline for me to turn them in to Barbara is 2/08 (or something like that), which isn't really all that far away.

We need at least 8 hunters, or the shindig is cancelled. That would be sad.

Well, this is kinda sad...

I have three paid apps on my desk for this hunt.

It takes eight, fellas. Seems like I remember an awful lot of folks saying stuff like, "Man, if you did another Tejon archery hunt I'd be all over that!"

Where are you now?

This hunt is teetering on the edge of cancellation, which will REALLY suck considering that I just postponed this weekend's rifle hunt.

Hifi,

Haven't seen anything from you. Try again.

There is a challenge/response turned on my email, so when you send you should get a message back from our server. Reply to the message, and your email will go on through. I kinda hate it, but it's the only way to manage the spam attacks through our email servers.

Hey Speck,

I would be planning for this hunt, but I have a professional commitment that weekend. The rest of you guys should get going on this. Hunting hogs at Tejon with a bow is big fun. You will see a lot of hogs.

Okie dokie then...

A small handful of apps are going out this evening. Should be in your paws by Monday next week.

Apps absolutely MUST be completed and returned to me by Friday, 2/08.

I am leaving this evening for Vegas and the SHOT Show. I will have email access, but I will not be able to send any more applications out.

Also, we will cap this hunt at 12 hunters. I have six apps confirmed right now. With several applications still outstanding, and the four I'm sending today, we may get close to the cutoff. The first six completed apps that I receive will take the remaining spots. No spots will be saved without a paid and properly completed application IN MY HANDS by Friday, 02/08.

On the flip side, if I don't have 8 paid apps by next Friday, the hunt will be cancelled.

Edited to add... I only sent one application packet to each address. If you requested apps for yourself and a friend (or friends), you will need to make copies of your application packet and provide that to each person you wish to have come with you. When they have completed the forms and provided the required documentation (tags, proof of insurance, etc.), send them all back to me in one package.

Hey Phil: You should be receiving my app today, tomorrow at the latest... How are we looking for this hunt? Not enough or to many?

Rus, with your app we'll be one short. I'm hoping a couple of these other guys have come through, but I haven't heard a word.

Okie dokie then...

Eight applications received, paid, and in the mail.

Sacfire... gimme a call. You left something out of your app packets.

Other than that, I hope you guys are reading the Tejonathon thread over in the Bowhunting forum. Holy crap, but those boys put the smackdown on some real nice hogs. Hopefully they left us a few, but definitely get over there and take a look at the thread. The bar is set!

woohooo its on :)

Amazing hunt those guys just had last weekend, going to be hard to top that!

Heck I'll be happy just bringing home some knowledge, experience and memories of good times. But it looks like the odds are pretty good I might get a chance at a shot... for my first pig!

10 days and counting!

Odds are not bad... but those fellas hunt pretty hard. The end product looks easy, but sometimes getting there isn't quite what it seems.

But you will almost certainly SEE pigs next weekend. You might get a shot. From there on, it's mostly up to you. But you'll definitely bring home some knowledge and experience... taht much IS guaranteed.

Good luck Phillip. Hope you get the monkey off your back and replace it w/ a packed pig. If you score this weekend are you going to stay w/ the stick and string for the March hunt (At least for the first 2 days)? Can't wait for more stories, pics and hopefully youtube footage.

Thanks, Mark... it's next weekend (wish it were this weekend, but I guess I can wait a few more days), but yeah, I hope to kick that monkey's butt.

Regardless, I'm shooting the new .325 for our March hunt. I like my stick and string OK, but I prefer my rifles...and this one has yet to get bloody.

Then better bring it, Russ.

Hopefully it won't be too heavy, but we need the water worse than I need the hunt... OK, at least as bad.
