Tejon boar

Went to tejon Friday to Saturday. We only saw two pigs both days. One we killed the other was not killable. We spotted him from a few ridges over and made our way to where he was. I slowly made my way to the last spot we had seen him and as I got close I could hear him in the brush. I kept spotting him walking through the trees but I couldn't get a scope on him. Then he walked out into the open so I shot him and he was dead instantly. He was 50 yards away when I shot him. It wasn't until I got to him that I realized how big he was. It's a little hard to tell in the pictures but he was very very fat. He had been eating a lot lately.

By the time we quartered and deboned him and got to the truck it was close to 10 o'clock. The hike to the truck kicked my ass but I made it.

That's a normal Friday night for me. Nothing hits the spot quite like virgin blood.

Another thing I noticed was how thick his skin was. Up under his shoulders in the kill zone the skin was almost 1" thick. I new they had tough skin but I didn't realize it was that thick!

Wow, that sentence soo mirrors my first deer kill last year. I finished deboning like 8pm and arrived back at the truck at 10.


Congratulations on the accomplishment, And the new memory! That pig is righteously big!
