So I just wanted to see how many JHO'ers are going to the Feb 3-5 Tejon south side hunt. This is a hunt that my father and I do every year and have met some great guys from this website up there and always looking to meet more. If your going leave your name and what your driving on here so I can say hi at check in.

I'm Brett and I will be in a white chevy silverado lifted towing a white toy hauler at check in, in the field I drive a camo colored suzuki samurai.

Thanks, see you up there.

it hunters insurance, I don't know exactly what it covers, but it is required by Tejon.

Sure, I have pulled pigs off the ranch with my bow before. I am not bow hunting this trip since my dad is not very mobile anymore, so I will prop him up on a hill with the 7mm, and do a long hike below him to hopefully move the pigs around, then after he gets his I get to hunt my way.

My buddy and I are in. He's hunted hogs before, just never at Tejon. I have never hunted hogs, Tejon or otherwise. Can't wait. Like I said in the other thread, when I figure out what vehicle we are taking, I will let you know.

When is the last day to sign up? I have never hunted hogs before, does that matter?

they usually prefer a month ahead but you can get it in the last week if you check with them and they can get you insured in time. If you've hunted deer before you will be fine.

Well, talked to Jodi, and they got our application package, so we're all set........ Praying for rain to let up a week before, and nice 80 degree days leading up to the hunt...... Then 35 degrees opening morning....

if there is weather leading up to the hunt, make sure to bring a winch, shovel, and lockers on your rig, because if not, you will be hunting from the paved roads. it gets really slick and snotty up there if the ground is at all wet. Luckily, I have made a vehicle specifically for pig hunting on tejon ranch and it is unstoppable. So I welcome the weather, I love hunting in the snow up there, makes things interesting.

Looks like as of 1/30 they are suspending hunting. Typical scorched earth policy because of some numb nuts. Hopefully their "investigation" won't take too long.

Looks like Fish and Game and maybe HSUS are "in" and we're all left out...
