Hunting next weekend's pig mgmt hunt (archery) and need any advice, feedback, etc from those who have hunted the area. I have been told the North area holds a lot of pigs and we should be able to get into animals, however, I am expecting a lot of spot and stalk in some fairly trying terrain. Have never been to Tejon, so I am excited to see it.

Well you're going to have a blast hunting up there. Get up high and glass. Most hogs we found were out feeding during the day.

If you want an area that holds some LARGE hogs check out House Creek aka "Carbon Canyon". It'll be spot and stalk only but prepared to sling arrows quickly.

Great, thanks. I've heard I should be prepared to glass A LOT. I'm hoping the cool weather and the fact that it will be after a slight rain and a new moon, we will see lots of pigs.

Good info... and really all you need to know to get started.

A couple more tips, though... first, watch those roads if it's wet. They're hazardous. If it looks bad, go back... it will NOT get better.

Second... do a quick search on Tejon Ranch here on JHO, and you will unlock a treasure trove of excellent information.
