Well, I am back and sitting on the couch with a beer reading all the abuse I am taking. I'm glad that Orso posted up so the focus has shifted
<

Congrats to Orso on a great pig and a great story. It was a fun weekend even with the injury.

Here's my short story. Brad and I found a good area and parked then hiked up. We split and I went left and he went right up the canyon. Not even 5 minutes after splitting I spot a large hog and raise Brad on the radio. He makes it up to me and we step around a big tree to look and there are about 14 or so hogs feeding in the open about 200 yards away and we had a great wind. We started on them and worked into about 75 yards. They never knew we were there but started feeding up hill and the opposite direction. We stayed on them slowely closing the gap. They finally fed up and over a ridge and we headed for them. It was a VERY steep uphill and side hill to the left to follow them. Trying to be quiet and stable I stepped up and onto a large rock, something like 3 feet and 3/4 burried in the dirt. As I put my weight on it it sheered in half and about a 100# section tumbled down hill. Due to the angle and it being my inside foot I went down fast. I raised my right arm to brace myself as I went down and the full weight of me, my bow and my pack came down on my raised arm. BAM out of the socket it came. I reset it quickly (done it before on the other arm) but I was done. It is pretty messed up and I'll be in this week to see the extent of the damage. I am in a sling and it is immobilized but hurts like hell. I did like Speck's version of the story though, much more interesting
<

My hunt ended right there and we never did catch up to those pigs again. I'll let BigBubbaDaddy tell his story of the 2 arrows released this afternoon.

To quote Arnie "I'll be back!!!!!"

Good stories, and good shooting Orso. I can't wait for pix, and the JHO Swine Soiree in May.

BDB should be all healed up, and Speckmisser will be completely rabid by then.

I will get my part of the story up later today. I've got to get to work.

I will say that once again Tejon has not let me down. It was an awesome hunt.

Not sure mine are better. I'm a little disappointed in my camera this weekend.

OK...so it's more likely operator error. But anyway...

Bighorn, where did the other half of you go, man your looking mean & lean.

Orso, only one arrow quaver? wow! you are good and you shot it twice. LOL

Nice boar, with some good cutters, tell us what kind of broad head and arrow combo did you use, did you get a pass through? where did you hit it 1st? etc...

great story Phil, Tejon sounds like a great place to hunt and hope to make it on a future hunt with you guys!

so Speck, what you doing mothers day weekend, revenge of the pigs at choppers! why dont you join me, and I promise to play strip poker this time................tra[/b]

Wish I could make it down to Chopper's again, especially after this weekend... I REALLY need to get some meat with this bow. I just have too many hunts already going over the next few months.

Let's see... just finished this one. Got a hunt in TX next month. Got the JHO POR on Memorial day weekend, and another Tejon archery hunt is still scheduled for the first weekend of June.

Also got a totally unused Golden Ram membership that I need to get some of my money's worth out of.

Congrats Orso. Great accomplishment, especially with a stick bow.

BDB and Hronk covered a lot of ground on the blood trail, but it apparently trickled out after a while and disappeared. From the description of the hit, it went below the vitals and cut brisket, then stuck in the leg bone on the offside.

My money says somebody will find a surprise on the next POR when their hog has a broadhead in its leg.

Dude that got run over was a mess when I saw him. One eye beat shut and it looked like he lost a fight with a bobcat in a phone booth. I would have malingered in camp the next morning but he sucked it up and went out, pirate patch and all.[/b]

Spectr - And the beat up dude with nary a sleep for pains all-over scored a nice 240 lbs on hoop on a bad eye the next morning.

Thanks for another ride in the memory lane.

Speck - What can I say? There is always next time?
