I have probably driven past Tejon literally 500 times and have seen tons of deer but never any pigs. Was coming over the Grapevine Saturday at dusk and about 100 yds to the east of I-5 was a BIG (I'm guessing it was pushing 300lbs) pig just ambling along near a bunch of cows. We were going way too fast and in the wrong lane to stop and glass for his buddies. I pointed it out to my wife and she first thought it was a calf as it was black. She wasn't too excited so I thought I would post up to you guys that may find it of interest. -Tony

Man I ALWAYS watch there, and have yet to see one.

I even have my wife trained to keep her eyes open on that
stretch (I gotta watch the road at least a little) but so far
no luck.

I even went by there twice this weekend. Thats good motivation to
keep looking. Now if they will just migrate across the 5 and over
to Los Padres.

I know what you mean. I stopped my rig three times including on the overpass on Lebec on my way out of the ranch and pulled my binos out each time from their case to look at what turned out to be cows on the hillside. There is allot of calfs that I saw this weekend. Did'nt stop me from looking though.

I always look, never seen a porker there yet. I know some of the past Ham Slam hogs have come from down there near the freeway.

JaeHunt, our parents, and myself had just come out of the entrance near Tejon lake and started North on I-5 to do some fishing on the back pond when I saw two very LARGE pigs charging along the hillside, around 12:00 pm, on the West side of the freeway. Awesome site for sure, especially since we hadn't seen anything that morning.

My Dad (Gnn961) and I used to stop on the N/B side of the I-5 just N of the Tejon Lake gate and see approx. 8-15 hogs in the field. The hogs were anywhere from 15-60 yards from the road and some were pretty good size (250+). We saw them every morning on our way to Cuyama quail hunts but haven't seen them there in the past 2 years. I'll have to see if we have any shots that we could post, it was always a nice start to a good day of quail hunting.
