Haha, no we werent the ones in the pig video. My dad shot it at about 10 yards right in front of him, the pig had just started to run towards us. The shot did have the same effect of the pig taking a roll down the hill though.
And its always fun to slam my Dad, though sometimes its just too easy.
One Track, thats what we were thinking. It was tough for us to move it before we gutted it, so we knew it was pretty heavy.
When did we get a new skinn post? That is awesome. There is somethin special about huntin Tejon. Congrats on the boar. Nice cutters. Those drag outs can be hell. Even walking those hills is enough to make your heart explode, let alone with half a pig on your back.
A little bit of bad news reguarding the skinning rack. Some low down, good for nothing, sick bastard, broke off the custom made beverage holders. It was a little tough skinning a pig and holding a cold one at the same time.
Tell us about the gun you used to take that boar. I can see it's a newer Marlin in stainless. Is it a 336 in 30/30 or 35 Rem.? Or is it a 1895 in 45/70? I can barely make out a scope, what make and power is it? Us gun nuts like all the details. Thanks.
The rifle is a Marlin 336ss (stainless steel) 30 30. I used a Hornady Leverevolution 160g bullet. The scope is a Leupold 2x7x28 ultralight. Here's a better pic of the rifle, different pig.

such awesome pics!!! I love the story too. Man, I can't wait to hunt Tejon again... I think I'd crap my pants trying to stick a 250lb hog with choppers like those with my bow at 40 yards!
Gotta watch that Buck vs 0 and 00 buck. Although there is NOTHING that stops a charging animal better than a 12 guage. It's just hard for most people to have nerves of steel and wait until the animal is only 10 feet away to start shooting... most lion/leopord attacks on safari in Africa can be prevented, but the guide can't be balzy enough to hold his bead until the animal is REALLY close. Ideally the charging animal should slide to a stop/do a backflip within 2 or 3 feet of your boots!!! I would prefer a 3" slug followed by a second round of 00 buck. Course, there's nothing left to eat/mount after that... but it's for self defense. Then again, I'm talking out my ass since I've never been on any type of dangerous game hunt.
p.s. anyone got a link to the "infamous pig video" I missed it.
