Hello everyone!

Just a quick update on the Tejon Ranch. My wife and I went up on Friday and could not get to the cabin we use on Red Mountain. Also, the road into Bear Trap was washed out in a couple of places. Most roads had some damage. Some areas were dificult to reach in our Jeep. In Bear Trap we used a cow trail to get in. Be careful and prepared to hunt other areas as some of your favorite spots might not be reachable. We stayed until Monday and hunted between storm fronts.

I see that you didn't get a hog...did you see any? I'm heading there this weekend and I've heard that there aren't that many pigs running around like in the past.

We did not see any. One guide with a hunter shot one in the range of 150 lbs. I have been told that they have reduced the population greatly last year but who knows.

Tejon is like my moms avacodo tree. At the right time of the year it's got so many on it that you have to prop up the branches with 2x4's. They are there! Go find em boys.

Keep in mind that there is water, feed, and cover in every canyon this time of the year so they don't really have to move around much yet. Good Luck

I was there today. Many roads are out and it's raining again (started around 3PM today).

Fun day though!

I went back for the weekend. The roads were worse than last week. My son shot a big one (Jaehunt). I'm sure he will be posting a story and pictures soon. By the way, my wife passed on a large one Saturday

I was at Tejon this weekend for the archery-only Big Pig contest. It is on the North side and we didn't have any problems with the roads. I guess most of the rain fell on the south side. Out of the 25 hunters, we only got one pig. We saw many pigs, but weren't able to connect. Lots of deer, a bobcat and turkeys. So if you have a chance to go, I'd try the north side. Some of the roads leading to Tejon were washed out, but inside the ranch they were all OK.
