Dang, Bubba! That's sweet! Get 'er ready, and I'd ride that anywhere in Tejon you want to go!
Dan, as far as winch and comealong... you may notice the orange recovery strap coming from my rear bumper in that pic? What you don't see is the winch cable running out forward too... hooked to a hefty pine trunk. It got close...
And Rancho, that Ford that was behind me... he chose a different route down too. ANd by the way... it was a little ol' Jeep that got me out of there.
Anyway, don't wanna hijack the whole thread. Jerry, with the right ride it's definitely a good trip. But seriously, you do want to be ready for some ugly driving... especially if you have a long bed or light vehicle.
Yup Jeep should be the vehicle that can do it all. I can write a book of adventures with them.
Owned an World War II vintage M32 -- all original equipment. Did not even need a winch when 16" tires (original banana) is buried in mud and muck. Just need some good back and forth maneuvering and I'm out unstuck.
The damn beast can climb walls! Feels like too when driving a steep hill and all you see in front of you is the big leaden sky and underneath all wheels are spinning trying to find traction in the ooze.
I say, bring 'em back Chrysler -- or we'll wait for the Humvees to be sold as military surplus.
