It is so worth the price. I took my 6 year old daughter for the last weekend of deer season last weekend. We saw a ton of young bucks and one decent 3x3 that was just a little too young. We also saw about 60 pigs, and a bunch of bobcats, shot 8 quail for dinner on Saturday and we were home by noon on Sunday. Having access to Tejon and being able to take my kids to see wildlife that close is priceless. To say Tejon has a 100 percent success rate is an understatement. I shot a hog in may 5 minutes after getting out of my truck at 3:00. The pigs are thick up there and you can take them with any method you prefer.

I have a ranch in Coalinga and I haven't hunted pigs there in 2 years. I just don't need to burn the fuel. The money you save in fuel and days of scouting to hunt somewhere else makes up for the price. That's my opinion...

Plus the folks at Tejon are really awesome people, especially Jodi who is in charge of wildlife management.

I would say stay away so I can have it to myself but that would be selfish. There is plenty of pigs to go around and I would be happy to help anyone get started.

Jesse,
If anyone wants to know where the pigs are hanging out when you go up for your hunt just shoot me a PM and I will let you know where we have been seeing them. We are up there every couple of weeks or so just camping and driving around with the kids. If anyone gets a membership and wants a quick tour so you know where to start it really helps. It took me about 6 trips to learn the roads and figure out the patterns.

Thanks Captjgray. I'm still not sure if I'm gonna get the spring pass. THe last price raise really changed the deal. That and no more unguided turkey tag. Maybe if we bug the new hunt manager to bring that unguided turkey tag back?

Doesn't make sense to me. Yes, it's a beautiful piece of land, BUT, there's lots of awesome public land in CA. - and it's free. Also, there's lots of public land for varmint hunting in So. CA., and it's also free. Why would you pay $1250.00 to shoot varmints that you can shoot for free throughout the state...? If you want to whack a hog, just pay for the Wild Pig Management Hunts ($450.00) - you could do that twice and still have $350.00 left over.

I guess its all relative. If you can say its not a bad price then you can obviously afford it, which is great and I dont blame you for spending it if you enjoy it.

But lets face it, for the average hunter, or American for that matter, that is a ridiculously high price. I'll have to agree with "map" it sounds like some high end European style rich guy hunting. They must have un-Godly overhead to pay for...or just greedy.

I've been a member for the last 5 years or so. I think they must be testing the market. I would have joined again at the old price but I'm sitting this year out. If they don't fill up I'm hoping they'll have to drop their prices next year.
