Golden Ram did something similar at a couple of ranches. Now there are Rhino and Polaris tire tracks on half the ridgetops. And when someone sees tire tracks, those automatically become "a road"... then someone takes a jeep down there. Then someone else comes along in a pickup truck...

I know, it's wrong to hold the actions of a few against many, but in this case it just seems to pan out the same way every time. Time will tell, but allowing those OHVs in the ranch is going to open up access to some great spots that used to be foot-travel only... which generally means great spots won't be so great anymore.

I completly agree!!

Ok guys i stopped by tejon on friday to give Lana my paperwork for he spring access for me a 2 buddies, on my way to the duck club in los banos (knocked the shit out of the ducks). Lana is if you havent met her the nicest women you have ever met, she went over all the rules and explained how it all works.
If you add the family access you can bring a friend up to 5 times on your guest days. If you invite a friend to hunt pig they buy a pig for $550 and can hunt for 3 days for a pig. They do not lose tag if non harvest, and these 3 days dont go against your guest days. if your guest doesnt get their piggie then they can come on your guest days to get their pig.
she also knows a great guy to buy your .22 or .17 non lead ammo from for those varmits....
I cannot wait to get onto the ranch and play, and yes Jesse you are invited whenever we head out....

I went to the Tejon website and I'm alittle confused.

Basically, membership is buying a lease?

A spring membership gets you 2 pigs, varmints and fishing?

Diamond is different how?

I went on line at Cabela's and do have TNT non-lead for 22 mag and 223. Did not see any non lead for 17 or reg 22. I am sure that will come as well...

The tipped TSX pin hole in/out on a speed goat. I've seen one good hole on a pig. We shall see.....[/b]

I'm doing the Jan. management hunt and plan on talking to Barbara directly about the options for Spring access. If there is truly a chance for more than two hogs it would pencil
out, especially with the other amenities and opportunities (varmints!). I've got a sweet .222 that needs a workout!

RE: TSX's etc....Not a hijack...just a comment. Did you hand load the tipped TSX?

In general I've found that shooting them FASTER is better. High BC bullets are the norm these days and seem to benefit from the Roy Weatherby
model of driving them hard. In my (and others') experience....You can't hardly drive a Barnes fast enough to hurt anything but if the velocity is too low they just pencil right through. I think that's why so many folks are disappointed with them--the factory loads tend to be pretty mousy--probably due to product liability issues, etc.

MJB,

You may know the answer to this question, can I hunt the POR weekends as well if I purchase the exta $450.00 pig tag? My buddies are planning to hunt the 5/8-5/10 management hunt, so I would like to hunt that same weekend for pigs as well. Maybe even the POR with Phil and gang.

Thanks for any insight you may have.

I'm pretty sure I read that you cannot be on any side of the ranch that is scheduled for a general WPM/POR hunt as listed on the calendar. I.e. if there is a North Side POR you can only be on the south side that weekend. If its North+South you cannot be on the ranch at all.

But, you can always sign up for and hunt the POR in addition/separate to your membership.

Damien is right por hunts close that side of the ranch, but go on the por with your friends they will love your knowledge of the ranch just pay 450 to Barbra for that hunt.
As for the private hunts like JHO in may you will have to share the ranch.

I usually do 1 por it's fun to put the pressure on a hunt and enjoy time with your friends.
