Hello All,

I have access to hunt 400 acres in Tennessee. The property has Deer and Turkey and the owners think they have heard hogs. I have done a general search and found mixed reviews on hog hunting in Tennessee. This property is in Wilson County. Does anyone have any 1st, 2nd, or even third hand exprience/info?

As Always,

Thank you in advance,

NI

Which end of the state is Wilson County. Its East TN isn't it? There are hogs in East TN. I grew up in Oak Ridge.

I was just watching the Outdoor Life Network (American Expeditions or something like that) today & they were hunting somewhere in Tennessee. They took one with a muzzleloader, one with a bow, and one with a revolver, apparently all in the same day. I cannot recall exactly where in Tenn. they were. -Tony

Saw the same show TMAN saw. Looked like there was no shortage of hogs. At least they did not have any problems locating them. They showed everything you should look for. Wallows, tree rubs, rooting...

I have seen many outdoor shows on hunting hogs in Tenn. I think a game cam or some scouting could tell what types of hogs they have there on the ranch.

Let me know if you any help , I'm in the Nashville area.

I have hunted the North Carolina side of the border up there, and it's supposed to be crawling with hogs. I never saw pig one at the time, though.

There are a lot of ranches in the area, though, that hunt with hounds or behind fences. Most of the hunting shows I've seen in that area utilized one or the other.

The population is supposed to be booming, though, and it's been almost 10 years since I last hunted in the Smokies. Things change fast with hogs.

I think the suggestion to get a couple of game cams out there is a good one. That'll let you know for sure what you're dealing with.

Do you guts ever watch Team Fitzgerald outdoors? ALL of their Hog Hunts are done in Tenn. I have 1 of the Video's and they take some HUGE(400+ lbs.) boars. I cannot remember the name of the outfitter/Ranch that they are on or what part of the state it's is. There is defintely not a shortage of hogs over there.

I've hunted 15+ years on public & private land in middle & east Tennessee without ever seeing a hog or sign. I'm aware of a population of hogs on the cumberland plateau (east tn.), but have only seen a few on the back of 4-wheelers. Seems as if they are primarily from Nashville east towards the smokey mtns.
