Not much to the story. I was invited on this hunt as backup to help shoot some exotic doe for a couple new rookies just incase they don't get their doe. The bad thing is I still have to pay my hunt fees to carry a gun inside the safari truck. Every time we see a doe, I would get my crossed-hairs on it but would wait for the rookies to pull the trigger first. Afterall the rookies did pretty good and got their doe without my assistance. After everybody else were tagged out, I decided to get me a blackbuck doe. The hogs were a bonus blast for all of us. We harvested 3 big ones and 7 piglets out of 3 different herds of pigs. I know the group of six piglets were too small but if we don't take them, the landower sooner or later will shoot them on sight or have a helicopter eradication shoot and just let them lay. We figured it was better for us to make some Kalua pigs out of them. Here are a couple of pics of the kill. I will post more pics when I get them from my buddy.

By the way, XD's list of kill was missing "1 axis doe"

it was the OASIS! that is the place with all the big texan BBQ grills out front right? decent hunting store. my favorite hunting gloves, i still have them, came from there.

Great store, it had every gee whiz hunting gadget known to man. I bought my ground blind from there. Just around the corner and down the street from the "Guns and liquor" store.

JHO used to organize an Exotic hunt down in Uvalde every year. It kinda died out.

here is my trophy from uvalde. my mom wanted a pig that would fit in her oven...i wasted my tag on this turd. that tiny, sporatic little bugger was hard to hit with my bow...he wouldnt stand still. i was with about 6 texas law men..SWAT, Rangers, and a sheriff guy. they GAME ME HELL! it was a blast over there. i had so much fun judo tipping cottontails!! i did arrow a big sow later.. but i am more proud of center punching the mini pig.

This is all very motivating stuff. i think i might give the military my 2 weeks notice, hitchhike to texas and start doing this everyday. i would be completely broke but i would have a smile until the day i died!

Hi Ya'll,
Went to Gonzales, TX last week for three days, to hunt the Gonzales Ranch, about an hours drive East of San Antonio. Took two good friends and co-workers of mine and we got two nice meat hogs, 125-150 lbs. Warm and a little muggy, 90 during the day and 70 at night and this is only "Spring"! :-( Locals said it'll get warmer in a few more weeks, glad we went NOW! Good accomodations at the ranch, good food and pigs running all over the place! One fella at San Antone airport said, we should try Uvalde next time we get the chance, as much fun as we had on this little outing..
we may just do that? If anybody wants any particulars about transporting firearms or coolers when you "Fly", just shoot me an email....be glad to help!
