Hi guys,
I was offered an opportunity to hunt The Adobe Ranch for this weekend. The reason i'm asking for help is, i'm not familiar at all with this property.
It is going to be 100% self guided hunt and in addition it is going to be an archery hunt.
Those two put some limitation on me which i hope the guys who hunted this property can help me out to resolve.

1st - I'll be arriving on Friday around 8-9PM (dark already) so Erik (CottonWoodHunting) is not going to have time to show me around and i do not want to miss my Saturday morning hunt on scouting too much.
2nd - Since it is an archery hunt, i'm limited to shoots of up to 60 yards and on standing still or slowly moving targets.

So, the ones who has experience with this property, can you point me out maybe even on Google maps to potentially promising area with a good trail where pigs go to or from bedding or feeding areas.

Thank you

When I get to the computer I'll get back to you with some info, to much to type in the phone, r u hunting alone or others? If so is everyone hunting archery or any rifle hunters, I've hunted there a couple times and our group always came away with pigs but that was rifle, a bow is going to be a challenge but can be done.

We are going to be only two of us, both archery.
I know about the challenge of archery, therefore, looking for place where they not move fast but stay a little.
usually on all properties i used to archery hunt it took me two three trips to figure right strategy. Now i do not have such luxury and also i do not want to use a guide.

Yes, what strategy?
But please don't tell me to take you with me so you can reveal it there. I'm not buying it. Please serious and valid advise. I need to show the upper class of the lucky hunter.

Not sure even how to answer this post.... Sounds to me like you better get lucky rather then be good because you have no time to scout the area have no clue where the lanes are and have never been there before.. I'm sure one of the people you are going with or the guy there will give you some hot tips on where the piggys are... I'd rather be lucky any day then good :)

Thanks for the PM. It came a little late since we decided to go there earlier than it was planned. I was already hunting at 6PM.
I'll put a new thread about my experience as soon as i clean my desk from the mess which is collected while i was away.. business does not wait.

Yes, I know Eric. LOL. I just thought you had a self guided hunt. Eric is a great guy and will put u on pigs. How did your hunt turn out?

Actually it was a self guided hunt, no any other form of hunting is appealing nor acceptable. This was my first condition.
And i think it is Erik, not Eric, but i might be wrong LOl..
I'll put a full report in another thread in a bit. I need to clean my desk from some urgent things which just popped up in the last two days.
