I saw this buck the day before and watched where he went.

The next day I hiked two hours in the dark and set up on a rock by the trail he took the day before

The problem was this morning was fogged in really bad, I looked at my watch, he was already and hour late

Then I saw movement up and to my left, a doe.

She came right down the trail he came down the day before and she never new I was there.

About 30 minuets later I see a shadow and the shadow had lots of bones on it's head, here he comes.

I never stood up, I just sat there, on the rock.

He came down the same trail the doe had taken, at 20yds I came to full draw.

The arrow stuck right in his neck, his legs went stiff, he just froze right their 20 yds a way, for what seemed for an eternity.

Then gravity started to pull on him, he rolled once, then twice, he starts to pick up speed then he stops, stone dead

Caleb wanted to go bear hunting after I got home from work and I was dragging my feet, he said you promised.

So we grabbed our gear and I thought I would walk him around tell is got dark.

I was leading him around and he asked could he lead [ he got tired of looking at my back side ] so I said sure.

Not 50 yards later he Say's " bear " and I said what? he said there's a bear.

This bear was on the same trail as us, so I shot him.

Ronnie's first buck, he grew up in the city.

I remember Him getting excited when he saw his first free ranging cattle.

Rennie and his first son are no longer with us.

Beautiful area....

If you can, tell me more about your techniques for moving through the dry lands on stalks?

You are definately an inspiration in my book! I think we need to start a "Ask The King A Question Thread" for technical advice only. Tread Barta move over, there's a new King in town!!! Your the man!

Ike, check post #97 it's the truth.

Hot, Steep, and brushy.

No one can move through it with out making noise [ except maybe a bear ]

I can say from my perspective, what sticks out the most to me, is the relationship that you and your hunting buddies have together. It must be incredible to have 3 or 4 buddies who know your every move and vise versa. You all look like a huntin SEAL team, and I think it speaks volumes. I havent checked yet, but be sure to post these pics in your personal photo collection here as well. Its always motivating to have a point of reference of what is out there in the woods if you truly put in a ton of hard work. Not to sound like Dream Season, but I also enjoyed the panoramic photos, and the child photos. I have my 5 yr old practicing on a traditional right now. Havent shot an arrow yet. Just working on technique. Any pointers on that would be appreciated. As for your accomplishments - I think a ball coach once said, "It aint braggin if you back it up." There is a heckuva lot of time and effort in each one of those kills, especially being spot and stalks. Congrats to you and your buddies. joe
Buck-eye, your so right, I love to hunt by my self, it seems spiritual some times.

But hunting with your Buddy's is a kick in the pants, enjoying each others company.

How ever we usually separate in the Field and get together every so often to see whats out there.

About your son, keep it fun, put up a coke can or some thing he can try to hit that makes it fun and move him real close.

He'll figure it out, just like we all figured it out how to through a base ball.

FUZZ NUTS, KINGWOULDBE, SKINNER AND SLAPJACK.

Ready for action
