Sure looks like a pot bellied, same pug face, ridgeback hair looks right. 'course, my pot bellied pig's gut is near dragging the ground, but she's older than that hog.

Looks like the pigs comfortable walking up the driveway, so I'm gonna go with pet. They make great pets.

Still, not something you see every day.

I second the potbelly. A wild hog would be nothing but elbows & @ssholes. That little oinker was trotting much too comfortably to be wild. If nothing else, I'm proud of your wife for being "Johnny on the spot" with the video. Most women wouldn't pull over to take a hog video for their husband......

+1 Farmer.

Funny you mention that. This winter I was brain tanning quite a few deer hides and my wife was skeptical. After a few velvety soft hides she came on board. One day, while driving down the road, we passed a roadkill raccoon, my wife got excited and said "That one's in really good shape, lets stop!".

I never thought I'd hear my wife say that........:bag-on-head:

ChefTod,

I was out scouting for other wildlife on the backside of Palomar a few months ago and ran into ~10 of them in a creek bed. ###Happy to send you the clips for your use or posting. ###They were so busy foraging i don't know if they even saw me. Needless to say I purchased my pig tag the next morning. ###But yes...they do exist!###

This is the shorter of two clips from my iPhone. Only 4 show themselves but there were a total of about 10 feeding. I bumped another few pigs the following weekend less than 2 miles away. Based on my conversations with CNF and DFG employees, wild pigs are roaming a lot further than most probably believe. Keep in mind the San Diego County strain originated at the El Capitan reservoir.

Well bro, I have been on a mission. I have been tracking pigs here in the Cleveland National Forest. I found some tracks near Julian, but they really ran cold (old scat, old tracks, etc.) No rub marks near the that area. But I did remember smelling some strong odors! Just a gut feeling, but I thought they have moved south. So, I have been tracking/ scouting near Descanso. I have found fresher tracks and signs (probably a day or two) in that area. I still takes me to walk about an hour or an hour and a half before I found/ find signs. Problem is, I have to muscle through the dense brush off the beaten path where I stop seeing human signs. I think they are still hugging the San Diego River, but the terrain his steep and the shot placement is difficult. I am still looking for a good place to sit and shoot. There are all kinds of game trails, with sporatic root marks. I haven't found signs of sounders, just individuals. I have been going out at first light, but I think going out before dark is probably better. Only thing is, I am afraid of back tracking to my car after dark, risking natural hazards. I might have to camp to do what I want to do. I hope this helps!

I wouldn't spend to much time tracking that thing. It might lead you to the pet store!

Hey, was that big hog that the dogs had cornered at the water hole a San Diego pig? They seemed to be jumping back and forth from local footage, to stock footage. It was tough to tell.
