this old boy dropped his antler around march 10th. We went back three times to this area which is above the game range but were unable to find the match. We saw 6 different bulls on those three days but they were all still packing. I did see something interseting on the last day that made me think an antler was close. For 5 consecutive days we came upon elk beds, on the 5th day I found a bed that was ridden with blood. I understand that elk and sometimes deer will bleed from their feet from the hard snow but this was different. It looked to me like the elk was spurting blood from the gaping hole in his head. It looked like a gang fight. This leads me to believe that the blood could drain into their eyes causing them to shake their heads. Never the less there were no sheds around to be found.
