I'm retired and could use some exercise. I'd be happy to "scout" on your property with my German shepherd once in a while. Be a nice break from the city. Not interested in a confrontation, just a chance to practice my videography skills...

Just curios, even if you will be able to ID him, what can you do about it? Report to police? Police cannot do anything about it. The guy will say you took his picture in the local park, or he can say it is not him.
Just my 0.2. Until police officer cetches him on your property, you cannot do anything IMO, but i might be wrong

Good question. I'd hope that a visit from the local sheriff with a picture, date, and time would be enough to keep him away in the future. Most petty criminals are cowards and rely on the belief that they can get away with their actions without being caught, so any disruption of that can change behavior. Certainly that wouldn't help stop a real dirtbag.

You need to hide a camera where the guy parks. Get his licsense plate number and take it to the police. Or have a police buddy look it up for you. Then just show up at his house.

You could also set up a hotwire and spray paint it tan or green. :)

1. No sheriff is going to waste his time on this because he is going to look stupid to use unconfirmed evidence... The guy will tell him just to F*** off.
2. Taking pictures on the parking place does not make any good ether because it is not illegal to park a car alongside the road.
3. About this video, You can get prosecuted for it. If guy reports you, you are going to be in huge trouble which are not worth catching this guy. Just imagine if he dies of hard attack?

What happen to the good spirit of JH forum? Usually we condemn greedy landowners who does not allow to hunt on their propertiese LOL

All liability issues aside, you gotta admit that the clip is at least a tad funny...

Yes it was, but there is a saying something like this: Good laughs who laughs the last, or something like that.. I can imagine how loud would be laughing the wife of a dead guy getting a couple of millions $ compansation from the owner of the property LOL

All bs aside. Go into man tracker mode. Where is he going to? Why is he tresspassing on your property. If your property is marked, you have rights as a landowner. He may be growing pot on your land.

The guy can be prosecuted for hindering a hunter. By taking your camera he has interrupted your hunt. DFG could prosecute that I believe.
Maybe instead of cameras in trees we put jho members in trees with .45's. BTW I have a .45 just in case...

It seemed the biggest violators and trespassers on our property were our boardering neighbors, they new when we where around or not, and sometimes it would be there friends who hunt there land and would be caught sneeking over. One neighbor even set up a tree stand on my property once, unbelievable but true and they even put a lock and chain on it I had to cut to get the stand down, like they say its usually the people close to u who do take advantage sometimes. He said she said who knows....tra

Unfortunately you cannot enforce your rights, as you cannot prove he was trespassing, unless DFG or police or sheriff will make an ambush there for a month or so and catch him on hot. No other way.... How feasible is it? They do not even try to catch burglars but they will run for trespassers..... Com-on guys grow up, in Oakland they do not move till there is someone killed, and even then they do nothing, only file a police report. It defenetely helps.

I think your missing the point bra. Getting the license plate number and being able to track the guy down to have an unscheduled "Sit down" will certainly be enough for him to stop. While your there you should ask the man what he thinks should happen if you physically find him in your property lines again. Let the guys imagination work for him. Likely far worse than anything else you can say to the guy.
