This gets better abd Vetter, Meat eating beatles at my local Pet store !

You are not going to believe this, I am stilll alittle hesitant but I know my Daughter and she is all ways 100 % before speaking/ Whats that ? Yes Not like her Father that can run off at the Keyboard from time to time.
But she says a local pet store she knows the owners of keep Meat eating Beatles, WHy / Why yuou ask? Hey so did I.
When or if a animal dies in the store, they let the Beayles clean the skelliton and display it or donnate it to a local schools science dept. Pretty Cool ?
Now the Quesyion I am going to Euro my freaking Ginorous Board head and am going to use this Beatles if available, I have a very large plastic Box/ Tub with a locking lid I want to use,
But what about the stench ? and air supply ? Beatles need to breath correct ? And off gassing of the meat rotting ?

I am conciderating using a fish tank air pump and a exit hose with some lind of filter, maybe Carcoal for the stentch ? any buddy ever work with these guys bedore?

Really ? cool been kicking around air systems to filter the smell away. guess the Pet store would be the best people to get the care and handling they would need. still leaning toards a charcoal filter.

If there are smells coming out of your skulls still... means you need to simmer them yet again. If it's very faint odor, you can spray 'em with Tilex and leave 'em in the sun. But once you're sure all the tissues you can't get at have been cured and are now devoid of any odor. You brush on the Mop-n-Glo and it whitens up the skulls and seals-up the pores.

I use this stuff brush it on after removing the flesh, let it sit over night then rise in hot water

My Daughter is friends with the owner of the shop and wants to check with her first before she turns us loose on them.
Figure tomorow or Monday. Hopefully they have the tank and for a nominal fee we can just bring the skull to them.

The Mop-n-Glo thing I saw on, I believe it's called, WHITEBONE CREATIONS on Youtube.

Tilex is just a spray-on bleacher for tile that works really good in the bathroom for Mildew. Also works good to spray in your bathroom sink drain to help kill smells in there from all the mucous that goes down there.

There is a difference between removing the meat and whitening a skull. I use warm water maceration to remove the meat, but dermestid beetles work just as good. Whitening the skull is an entirely different process that happens after all the meat has been removed. I've written about it on this forum before (search). Good luck.

Keep us posted. I have a pig skull in the freezer. Ive been looking locally for beetles for a few years.

A) a large Non-operating Chest Freezer. Any donations ?
