Hello Gents,

I am a new member and I finally got a pic to share with you guys. Here is a pig I got from a private ranch outside of Visalia. I will soon post another pic of a pig we got recently.

I figured why not share something I enjoy very much with others that will appreciate it. This pig was about a 120lb. sow. Boy was she great eating; she only lasted a couple of weeks before it was all devoured. We all enjoy eating wild pigs very much. It is the meat of choice in our household.

Welcome, Bobcat, and thanks for sharing!

I'm sure hoping I'll get out and have some new pix to share soon. Just ate up the last of my wild pig, and it's definitely time to restock the freezer.

Hey Bobcat, your pic was a little dark so I lightened it up a little. How's it look now?

Nice catch BobCatJess. Those 120 pounders are just the right size to harvest. I get most of mine ground up in breakfast sausage. They breed faster than we can shoot them down here ;-)

Good Hunting

Live2Hunt,

There are a few pigs out of Visalia, but you have to know the right people I haven't been able to "get to know" them yet.
<
I have seen pigs out in the wide open on ranches in the middle of the day and also in the orchards this year because of the acorn shortage, but again good luck getting access.

Hello Live2Hunt, yep there are sure good quantity of pigs around the hills of Visalia, but they are all on private property. Pigdream hit it on the nose...good luck trying to get access. It is a very close and tight community amongst the ranchers in that area. Have a good day everyone.

That's a good one. Is that a bar of soap in his hand? Piggie seems to be enjoying it. Man, all I can do is play that nighmare of having leg cramps on the stalk of 20 pigs up at Sonoma in Dec. Someday. Got to get more determined.
