Hit up L. Sonoma early wed morning so i could head out to a old spot that was far from the crowd and sometimes holds some visiting pigs. For the middle of the week it was pretty busy with hunters running all around and there was four cars parked near my starting point when usally i rarely see one!
I basically started climbing a large hill when about 20 min into my hike i heard some rustling of leaves in a thicket of trees. The wind wasnt that great so i tried to wait for what i thought was a group of pigs to make its way towards me, but they stopped short of a clear shot and were silent. I thought i might be busted so i started to circle around when the rustling started up again and headed in the direction where i just was. I slowly crept back the way i came and saw a small portion of a pig broadside between a tree and some brush with just the money shot showing. I debated wether i should shot him or not because i knew TRA and Sancho would tease me for shooting a dinker, but then said screw it , its my first pig of the season and let one fly!
I heard a horrendous THUNK!!!,and then he was off, crashing through everything in his way. I could hear him stumbling as he sidehilled it below me, and then i could hear him falling another thirty feet down the hill where he eventually stopped in a draw.
Enjoy
