I finally looked at my watch and decided I better get to work. I drove about a quarter mile down the road and I spot two more hogs near a campground. I decided to pull in and try to sneak up on them for some closeups. There was a good size boar and a smaller immature one. I crept up on them to about 25 feet away and I spotted the smaller boar and started taking pics. I got about five pics in and he never noticed me. Just then the big guy came out saw me and grunted. They both ran squeeling through the thick stuff. After about 50 feet they stopped and went back to feeding. I back tracked to higher ground to get a good shot of the big boy, but it was just too thick. I did learn there was another hog with them that I never saw when I was near them. It was a nice heart pumping little hunt before work.

Nobody can see me in here........

I think the one in the middle is the one I was taking closeups of, but I can't be sure.
There was a picnic table near by if I got into a tusk vs. camera fight. Thanks for looking!!!!

Nice pics again... that's the way to start the day isn't it? Have you been through coyote lake recently and seen the big herd right at the front when you first pull in? it's unreal.

You guys must have missed my last couple posts. These hogs are residents in and around Calero reservior, just outside of San Jose, Ca. The reservior is a County park with varius activities like water/jet skiing and fishing. They have picnic areas and horse trails too, but no hunting. Many families frequent it. The place is patrolled 24 hours a day. Park Rangers by day and private Patrol by night. I guess in a way you could say the tax payers of Santa Clara County own the park, but I would still advise against hunting in there unless you want to end up like Paris Hilton.

I commute to San Jose along the road which goes by the reservior and when I see any hogs I pull over and snap photo's. Mainly because I know there are others like me on this forum who appreciate and admire these wonderful animals.

daddy63, I have been to Coyote lake one time in my life and that was last year to fish for trout. As we got to the top and began to head down toward the lake, two big ol boars ran accross the road in front of us. It sounds as if the population might have increased...imagine that....LOL

Thanks for taking the time and responding to my post.........
