All these comments are one of the things I love about hunting. Much of the knowledge base is built up is from local experiences. Animals are survivalist and find ways to be successful in their particular environment. Hunting pressure, food, water, weather, and terrain all affect animal behavior. I go pig hunting 10-15x/year, and each time I learn something new. Most trips I see no pigs or even fresh sign. Then when I locate a hot area, I fill up the freezer, and then they are gone again. I enjoy reading these posts, but also know that there is no substitute for getting out into your local area and building up your experience. The level of commitment and determination needed, to me, is why it is "Hunting" and not just "Harvesting". The more I read about all of our experiences and adventures, the more I appreciate what hunting is to me. Cheers to all of you for putting in the field time and being a good predator.
