Special hunt area, that's full of monster bull's. General season spike area. If you drove by Koosharem resoirvoir the 1 st house to the south was my father in law's, it was 110 acre's on the edge of blm land with Fishlake Nat. Forest behind it. I have a lot of memories of that place. He sold it and moved to California, and yes I cried like a baby when he sold it.
Yea, Koosharem was just west, down the hill from where the sign was posted. Nice area. We were looking at property just to the east over by Fish Lake. Do you know anything about the Summer Home tracts around Fish Lake?
It looks like a ghostown after general deer season. I dont know much about the real estate aspect of the area. I think all the business' at fishlake shutdown after gen. deer season. The next nearest store would be in koosharem. The nearest hospital is in richfield about 40 minutes away. I dont know if they plow the road to fishlake during the winter, that could be an issue for winter access. There was some development directly east of koosharem resoirvoir at the base of johnson canyon( I think that's the name)It's only 15 minutes from koosharem resoirvoir to fishlake. I know if you dig around that area bare land can be had really cheap. When my F.I.L built his place in 1994 it was about 4k for the well, 15k for the electricity run to house. He used heating oil for the winter. They offer some really easy late season cow elk hunts in this area, it's kinda like a duck shoot, but easier, lots of access to elk wintering grounds. I can't say much more I'm starting to tear up
