private land..indian reservation. all in for $550. we have to DIY the camp/food..but that is how we like it anyways. downside? i have to pay $200 non-hunt fee just to join him. i decided not to hunt because two elk is much to much meat. i love the camping just as much as pulling the trigger. he will need my help packing out the animal anyways.

only other downside is that it is rifle only.

Great deal. I spend more than that for a public land cow hunt in Arizona. Good luck to your brother and enjoy the hunt.

Check out the White mountain Apache tribe in eastern AZ, 5 bucks for the draw app. and if drawn, 325 bucks for a cow, calf, or spike bull depredation elk tag. For an even better deal the Utah non-res cow tag costs a little less with very good draw odds, most areas 100% with one point. Both draw windows are in June and July.

Sancho, so this is an actual draw tag? What's the license cost for NM?

That's sounds like it would be a fun hunt, something I may consider for next year. Draw odds?
