I'm countin down the days, that's for sure. Just set-up a 14 target 3-d course at our club's range last week so I'd have something to get some extra practice with. Even got the girlfriend to shoot it with me a couple time this weekend. She's never done any 3-d's before, so that was a good, no-pressure intro & it got the approval for some family trips to the local shoots this summer.

We're driving out on Thurs. but may crash w/ my brother at Edward's that night & punch out to the ranch Fri. a.m. I have to do some map-questing & concrete up our itenerary. I forgot to get the GF's license & tag, so we have to stop at a CA G&F office en-route & pick them up.

everything is looking good so far for next weekend Cecil and Matty, i really look forward to sharing the hunt with everyone and making it a weekend to remember! got my camo and gear everywhere right now, after today i have to work 8 days striaght till the day of the hunt so i will be real busy till then with excitement and look forward to getting away from the daily rat race and into the woods!.................tra

friday night i will bring some steaks and bakers some one can throw in some pasta salad or something, and so far TRA i am getting a no on the fish thing from 5 guys!

that leaves saturday night

ya, food will be no porblem at all. i will have enough to share each night with everyone.
!) marinated chicken breast strip's in a orange sauce
2) marinated country style pork ribs
3) either chicken thighs or drumsticks marinated injected
4) fresh trout i cought, grilled with Lemon garlic butter seasonings! YUM,YUM!

and desert how about some homade brownnies!

Exactly one week from now, I'll be shootin down the interstate, right around the "Valley of the Scum" (aka Phoenix) on my way to Ca.! Can't wait to get a crack at one of those hogs!

According to mapquest, it'll take about 11.5 hours from my house, so I'd say when you factor in fuel stops & crappy taffic along the way some where between 8 & 10 p.m. Is there a Big 5 in Hollister where I can get the GF's license & tag(s)? Thanks.

called the Big 5 in Salinas & they say they're out of hunting licenses for at least a couple weeks. Looks like I'll be driving into Monterey Friday a.m.

big5 will be closed at that time, you will not be able to get a license untill friday moring at 9am when they open if they have them! you would be best on your way to find a town like bakersfield

That's why I was thinking to just say screw-it & head to the G&F office in Monterey. They open at 8, and I know they won't be out. Could get the tag & be back in Hollister by 9:00.

anyway the big 5 in Hollister wont be open till 10 am fiday. gotta work 10-7 today and 2-11 the next two days thens its show time! everything is good so far, cant wait to hook up Matty and have a great weekend chasing hogs and toms and getting away from the daily rat race.

Just called the Bakersfield Big 5. Apparently, they will only carry either the 07-08 license or the 08-09 license & are out of the one & have yet to receive the other, so I'm forced to find a G&F office enroute. No biggy, that part of Ca isn't bad country to road trip through anyhow. See you guys in a few days.

P.S. I'm sworn to not take a shot until th GF tags out, since she hasn't shot anything bigger than a bunny w/ her bow yet. If one of you guys tag out early are you gonna help us spot swine? Show the newbies some love? Later.
