So I went to one of my favorite spots on thursday to do some scouting (Deer havnt started dropping yet) But before I could make it to the honey whole I almost got hit by a train. I was out on a bridge over looking the truckee river (scouting for fish) when I heard what sounded like a snake. I turned to look over my left sholder and there was a Amtrak passenger train barreling down on me at 80 mph. The bridge was on a turn so I couldn't see it until it was on top of me. There was a 1 1/2 foot concrete path on the bridge on both sides of the track that I quickly began to tear ass on. Picture the scene from stand by me, only this bridge was about 75 yards long. Just as I got to the edge of the bridge the train ripped passed me. I looked back as it went over the bridge and sure enough there was only a foot and a half between the train and the wire rail. The train stopped and I got yelled at by three people. I thought I was going to get the fine the jail time and the whole works. The train stayed for about 15 minutes but I got the hell out of there. So when you are out in the woods stay off the tracks. Remember if you are going to die out shed hunting make sure its on the way home after you've loaded your pack down.
