I understand, I think I remember something like "hunting animals on the weekend and criminals during the week" is that right?

I'll take two Orange County Peerless at $8 each.

Go back and park there again. This time camo up and hide nearby and watch with a video camera. After filming, shoot the horse in the ass with a pellett gun. See if he can hold on for 8 seconds!

MNHNTR,
This Bud's for you
<
and I owe you a fresh cigar.

As for those who do and have served in our nation's military? A cold beer just isn't enough, Thank you from the bottom of my and my family's hearts.

For those of you that have been so "wrongfully" targeted by the Police?
Let me join your pitty party
<

The Mod's right! let's get back on topic.
Fact is, we all still have one great thing in common. We all love to hunt as a means of being away from the rest of life's Crap.

Next time I get a chance I'll try the cammo in the woods thing. however, I don't think I'll shoot any horses in the rear. I like the animal too much... Like many of you recommended I won't confront the person but instead take the photos to the police, forrest service, and DFG.

Cheers

BTW UPER,
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
As for all military people being calm cool and collected we are a cross cut of society, we got idiots also, some real dandies!!!![/b]

I agree, I've seen it first hand, and it really is too bad. At the same time there are good soldiers too.

Too all going to the woods this weekend, good luck to all of you, I am looking forward to hearing the stories. As for me, a friend and I will be heading to Laguna Moutain, I don't plan to see any pigs
<
, but we plan to work that place to all end so if they're there we'll find 'em. Besides the real prize is just getting out of the city.

Cheers

Good luck at Laguna mountain LeeChul, me and HOGFEVER were there last Sunday, we kicked up some deer and there is good fresh pig sign in there but did not see any. Don't do what I did and try and find a "shortcut" beat myself up pretty good getting out. HOGFEVER had a good laugh at my expense. We ran across some big Kitty tracks along the river. We hunted hard that morning but it was nice to take the gun for a walk. Did not mean that we have allot of idiots in the military but like anywhere else you work we have are fair share. Those young boys and girls in Iraq and Ahfganistan on the ground are the real hero's in my book! Well again good luck on your hunt and have fun, let us know how it turns out.

Has anyone had any problems with parking their vehicles at LAguna or Sweetwater? Do any of you disconnect your batteries? I ve hunted there once, and I had visions of coming back to my truck and finding the windows smashed and things missing........

I've heard of such at the Laguna Mtn parking lot, but haven't ever experienced it myself. I usually camp in the truck, and hike out. The times I packed in and left the truck, I was pretty nervous the whole time. But nothing happened.

Thanks for the encouragement. I've been there once before and if you mean trying to go from the top straight down though what at first appears as a trail through the chaparrel (?) as the shortcut then I made the same mistake, not to be made again - I know where the real trail is now.

Maybe MNHNTR is suggesting I post a surviellance camera around my truck when I leave it? Good idea...

I must admit I had the same vision of broken glass last time I was there.

Ok I have to get in this now, most of you know me as boartracksca, I have been in the military for 18 years now(14 as a MP for the Marines and the last 4as MP for the Army). I have been in EVERY HOT SPOT IN THE WORD. I have a loving family and always try to do good for all. I see a ton of young guys in the military and as well law enfocement officers go to far. In my years of service, I see two breeds of peace officers-Letter of the law and spirt of the law. I have seen to many young officers go over board on minor situations, going from a calm to a full call out of the troops because the officer had a bad day. Todays peace officer does have a great deal of stress to deal with , is the next pull- over going to run or start shooting. I'm sorry for those of you who think that you are aways getting looked at because of your color or what you drive, but that is life and you have to deal with it in a calm matter and not go off on the officer, because 'I bet if you do go off, so will the officer, and who's fault is that if you get cuffed, for being a jerk. Now I think we have all gone to far with the pig bashing and cop thing and should stick with the post. a person wanted help on what to do about his truck while hunting. Give him the respect of a good suggestion, and not your own dealings with what ever problems you had with the police driving in South Central LA with the radio booming.

Just a quick point of clarification lest I be misinterpreted by a bunch of ASCII characters...

I do have the uttmost respect for the guys that do the job right. For example, the only couple of personal interactions I've had with the [John] Bishop clan and the hundreds of messages back and forth would lead me to believe that they fall in to the "respect" category as do most of the LEO folks here.

I did want to point out that there are many fewer of those folks though than there were 10 years ago here in LA. It's a lot easier and safer to look the other way if you're a LEO in LA now a days.

By the way Hogskin, A good friend of mine lives (rents) in Kroeker's house in Wildwood Cyn and we bowhunt in his backyard. Mark is off to South Africa now, I believe, to help them set up their local police force. Small world again

That was a nice place, Songdog. We blasted a lot of ammo right out in the front yard back in the day. No kidding, small, small world.
<
One of these days we're going to have to actually hunt together.
<

Mark Kroeker is such a great man. I wish he (or Vernon) would have succeeded Chief Gates. We sure wouldn't be in the mess we're in now.
