I'm new to the site and the area. Moved to the Modesto area a few months ago from AZ. Sure miss the open range we have in AZ but I'm excited about the new adventure ahead of me here in Nor cal. I really want to bag me a hog. I know the best way would be a ranch, but I really want to learn the public land near me. Has anyone ever been into the HUNTER VALLEY area just south of Coulterville in Mariposa county. I just want a place to learn that is close to me for shrot weekend hunts. I know my chances are low but...... sometime you just need to get out of the house and far away from the job.
