Tule elk 6x6 matching set of California sheds

These are from A-zone... about as good a set of sheds that comes out of this zone.

Was up at my buddies ranch on Friday calling some yotes and ran across this nice set. One of the burrs still had red blood on it, so they couldn't have been more than a day old. Quite a few bulls still have their horns.

The hunt for this herd the East Park Reservoir herd.

Great find and a fresh match, rare to find for sure. I have to differ with you about "as good as they get" I drew that tag in '06 and that herd has some toads in it !

How far apart were they?

About 100 feet... one half was laying out in the grass... I think that was the first to drop. The other half was over in some brush... I bet he didn't like his head tilted over and went to the brush to knock the other side off.
