Back in 1995 I was lucky enough to draw a tag for the La Panza Tule elk hunt. I shot a nice bull and had it mounted. My family has pretty much grown to 7 people and I no longer have room for my elk. I see on ebay they sell deer mounts all the time. I was wondering what a Tule elk mount might bring. Any ideas?

Don't do it!!! You'll regret it later on down the road IMO.

Do what ever you have to to keep it. Try local sporting goods stores or gunshops to see if they will display it for awhile. Or maybe a friend that has room. Just don't get rid of it!

ducslayer is correct. You know, Bass Pro Shops is coming to town(s) soon, maybe they will display it for you.

Sorry, you can't sell any part of any game taken in California under a hunting license...even if you get the game mounted.

How could you even think of selling something like that? That could be a once in a lifetime deal. Not to mention the lack of ethics/legality. Lotta indoor ranges and sporting goods stores would be happy to let you borrow some wall space in their stores. There are several other options as well; make one of 'em work:thumbs up:

There's a little tavern/restaurant in Summerland that has quite a few mounts, most from well before I was born, and all have plaques with the hunter's name, if nothing else I would see about getting it hung in such a place till you had room.

Good luck.

I would do everything to keep it as well. I'm sure that is easier said than done. But unless you really need the $$, I'd find somewhere to put it. I've even resorted to putting a couple up in the garage...at least for now.
What part of CA are you in?
