Uhhhh, still no, you cant hold my medicine bag either. Its no big deal really, just do like I did and in about 25yrs you might get one. No bull, thats seems like how long its been. Does anybody know if you have to wait to put in again, the regs didnt say I had to.
Too bad its so tuff, weren't they complaining that there is too many here in California. I have never appied for an elk tag, I guess because its seems like its too much $. My cousin went on a 8 or 9 day hunt in Montana on horse back with the 40 mule train and the whole bit. It cost around 4 or 5 thousand. I've heard of a couple other hunts on private land or with guides go for 2-3 thousand. My friend wants to go poorman style on public land and hope for the best, no horse, jeep, winch, ect ect. I want it to be a fun trip with some kind of practical way to pack that sucker out in at least 2 trips. I supose I'll stick to deer hunting for now they are a little more managable.

That is what would be nice if you could get drawn in California for an elk. It would be inexpensive enough for most people to afford. I live about ten miles away from the elk at Grizzly Island and I apply every year and never get drawn. California needs a point system for elk and deer.
It's just the luck of the draw untill they design a bonus point system. 2 years ago was the first time I put in for a elk tag. My period in Tenemaha had 10 cow and 4 bull tags. Put in a party tag for me and my son and got drawn. I got the 8th pick so my son ended up with the 9th tag. It was just one of those lucky years. We aldo got drawn for X9a. I'll probably never win anything again the rest of my life.
