Nikon koolpix 5600, some times the pics are blury and I think it's me, but you got to keep it vary still when you take a pic, I also use a little trypod and self timer

I glassed this herd about a mile and a half as a crow flies, they whir too far, so I lit a cigar and kept glassing looking for something a little closer, I also kept my eye on this herd, I could see it had two bomber boars, a calico which I think was a little bigger but was limping from a fight and the black boar was the dominant one.

As I was almost done with my cigar the herd fed out of sight and with no other hogs, I set out over to where they whir, I kept the wind in my face or crossing from them to me.

I saw them, then heard them, I eased up to 73 yards, it was to open to get any closer, the two big boars kept fighting every now and then, the wind was from them to me crossing left to right.

I was vary patient, Vance called me on the radio and asked where I was, I could not reply, so I just mic-ed a few times and we have a signal that if you cant talk just mic, he started to ask me yes/ no question, one is yes, two is no, are you on a stalk? 1 beep, any boars? 1beep, call me after your done.

The herd kept milling around, after about 30 minuets they started to come my way, the lead sow was dragging the whole herd right past me, I was really nervous that the whole thing was going to blow up any second, as I watched her come by so close with nothing between us, then I focused on the two big boars bringing up the rear.

They came by a tree I knew was 30 yards, I knew I had a shot from here on, but it was a vary strong quartering at me shot, so strong, I was thinking hit him in the neck crossing his chest [ glad I let that thought pass ] as they kept coming closer and closer I came to full draw moving with the two boars as they came by 30yd, 25yds, 20 yds I was looking at both and was not sure which one to shoot, I decided to take the black boar because he was the dominant one.

I had let down as they kept coming closer and closer, they whir almost broadside with me and I came to full draw and swung with the black boar, but he went behind a tree and there was a Junior mint little boar walking with the two big guys and he was blocking the chest of the big black boar, as he came out from behind the tree the Junior mint took a few steps down hill leaving him wide open.

I swung with him and picked a spot right behind his right front shoulder, as I finished coming to full-draw the arrow streaked across the 16 yards in an instant, buried deep into his chest, I knew I had both lungs, he grunted and shot forward.

The calico boar thought he wanted to fight again and turned to fight, then the black boars back end gave way first, he started to roll down hill to me, I knew he was done, it took less than 10 seconds for him to go down.

I called Vance on the radio, I just shot a monster

It taste like a hernial at the Colosseum, not that I have ever tasted a hernial, but they smell the same.The sow is the eater.

How much did that huge boar weigh and what did you do with the meat?

Congratulations and the hogs are awesome. I love solid black, solid brown or solid red pigs. Those are my kind of wild hogs to blow away with some artillery pieces.
