and I will be chasing the elusive Rocky Mountain Elk in northern oregon. Getting super excited. Its going to be with my dad. Hopefully I can repay the favor and call him in a bull since he usually calls the bulls in for me. We will be in Sled Springs unit. Have done all the research. Am getting the jitters. We will be riding our bicycles back.

I'm using a Savage .30-06. Elk hunts are doable man! First time is the hardest!

I'm using my bow. I usually go every year over the counter in Oregon. But couldn't go do to deployment last year. My dad saved his preferance points up, and Oregon has a cool tag program for active duty so I am got the same tag. We usually do good hunting the Roosevelt's but we are after the Rockies this year. I'm excited. I don't think there is anything better being in the woods with people you love.

It seems that you've waited too much for it. Try to do it as early as possible. So that you can enjoy the moments you want.
