My dad and I are heading from Ohio to NM unit 52 for a 12 day bowhunt (ending Sept. 18). Anyone ever hunt here? I have been looking at Hopewell ridge, San Antonio mnt, Crueces Basin, Jawbone, broke off mnt & burned mnt. Anyone out there with advice/ideas please let me know. I would prefer private email so as not to alert the world about a certain spot.

Prime area loaded with elk. I have a friend that has family still up in the area who complain about too many elk. Boy, isn't that too bad!
You are sure to have an excellent hunt.

That is what I like to hear, I have been pouring over maps and aerials photos and formulating a game plan. Also getting in shape, shooting and pratcing calling and going over gear. I will have 12 days to hunt so I am really hoping to stick a decent bull.
