A guy was nailed around the top of Browns Rd (extreme N. VAFB, area 3) Wednesday night by VAFB Fish Cops (TSgt S........) It was 2230 (10:30pm), the F&G were out doing their prelaunch sweeps. By using heat sensing optics, they saw this guy. The TSgt snuck through the brush and drew up the poacher. The guy, we suspect from Casmalia, had a loaded rifle, a brass-knuckle handled knife, no license or tags. The CA F&G were called and took him away. That was the secondary highlight of Thursday morning's launch of a Minuteman III missile. I say second because I don't have to show up to work tonight and go for launch attempt 2.

He must have snuck in along the railroad tracks. Doubt if he came through a gate. I've run across a couple guys camping on the road up there about half a mile from the gate that blocks the road. I bet the landowner to the east of A-frame gets alot of poachers.

Wrong side of area three. He was on the far NW side. We VAFB hunters all know that people cross over back there, be it Pt. Sal Rd from Casmalia, Browns Rd, or they just cross country it. just can't seem to catch them, well at least one was caught.

As you know, they can drive almost to the top, so it's not too bad a hike. I'll have to give S--------k a high five for catching him. I know Dan is gonna be pissed he didn't catch him.

Nice catch. NVGs are nice. Before them we had magnetic beam sensors that protected USAF nuke sites I worked at. We could tune them down to detect rabbits even. They use them up at Groom Lake (area 51)

So does this mean he will prosecuted as a possible federal terrorist? Sneaking onto a military base at night with a rifle and brass knuckle knife?

Just a rumor, but I heard they are dropping all the minor charges. They are going after him big time, seems the idiot had a lead bullet in his pocket!

Oh my God!! A lead bullet? He must be a real low life. How could anybody sully our environment and harm those poor condors, even indirectly, by having a lead bullet.

oh, come on you guys ..... he's just an illegal immigrant trying to feed his family of six ... he's already got Barbara, Diane, and Nancy's cell phone number and talks with them three times daily (through a state-and-federally funded and licensed interpreter, of course), and even their horsepower hasn't got him onto welfare yet .... but he does have a driver's license, so the LEO's know his name .... if it's his real name ....

I'll bet he was going to shoot a wet sow ![/b]

OMG, no, not a wet sow!!!!!! Isn't that like the 11th Commandment, "Thou shalt not shoot wet sows?", and the 12th will be, "Thou shalt not use lead bullets."
