HELLO ALL I AM NEW IN THE HUNTING SPORT AND I LIKE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS ABOUT THE AREA. I WANT TO GO HUNT COYOTE AND GROUND SQUIRREL IN THE NATINAL FOREST IN SAN GABRIEL. ON THE HWY 39 BEFORE THE EAST FORK, IT IT ALLOWED THERE? I WANT TO TAKE MY CA. 10 ROUND LEGAL AR 15 .223. THANK YOU FOR ANY ADVISE.

I would say stay above the East Fork.

Check out this map. You might also want to check out the regulations on the DFG website about the different game you can hunt and the different methods. In Los Angeles County you can only hunt rabbits with a shotgun I believe.
