Well i have been in florida for 7 months now and I kept telling u guys I can't wait till wild pigs show up in my yard and finally one did just a few minutes ago. I was helping my wife with brushing her teeth she had m.s and my motherinlaw yells Nick there's a pig on the yard and I run to the garage and grab my bow and release and head to the back yard wooded boarder line and post up still with an arrow nocked looking in the brush for movement thinking it's a small pig when I catch a glance if it 30 yrds away walking in the brush my eyes popped out its at least 200 lbs or bigger and jet black could be a lone boar I just saw it's upper black body which was big too see being tbe brush is high and it dissappeaed in the brush I stayed posted up on the edge hoping it would walk through within an open spot in front of me, I stayed perfectly still and I could smell that sucker but after 15 minutes I realized I left my wife in the bathroom because I rushed out to try and get a pig. So I decided to go back in the house to attend my wife.
My mother in law had finished taking care of my wife but I am feeding her breakfast now as I stare and type this waiting to see if the pig pops back out, got my bow ready on the back patio now.
Debating if I should dress up and try to find it in tbe woods or wait till early evening or tomorrow morning to see if it pops back put in the yard. I am jazzed up right now an hope I get a chance for the opportunity but at least I know the pigs ate finally here. I have to put some goodies on the backyard boarder to lure it out.....tra

Thanks Bryan and MJ, just went out back and used what I had available in the house to bait with which was Orville R. Microwave popcorn. ..lol
Dug up a spot and buried some kernels covered it up and put some on top.
I went into the perimeter of the woods looking for more sign nice and quiet from rain walking on pine needless.
But decided to what and see if it comes back out tonight or tomorrow morning again. Anyways there is swirling winds right now and it's humid.
I Let the pig come to me first before I decide to pursue it in the thick jungle behind my house I have a feeling it will be back.....tra

Sunset starting now I set a trail cam up and if it's after dark when it shows up and I am up i got my high power light mount on the bow ready to go. Tomorrow I got an 8 am appointment so that sucks if the pig shows up that was around the time I saw it this morning. This is exciting just hope I get a chance to let an arrow fly.
It's a short haul from the yard to the kitchen. . Lol...tra

That sure is some jungle. Adventure in your own yard, how fun. I think you made the right choice. Can't leave mama for a pig, you'll never win...

I think it would be more fun to rig up a snare and suspend that piggy upside down from a cable in the tree. LOL

Yeh that pig never came back the corn is untouched. Had a major rainstorm last night and now it's all flooded back there. Guess I have to patient for the opportunity and get ready to explore the woods to see if it's bedding anywhere in the vicinity.
Bruce I like the snare idea but I have deer hanging out back here.
Mike that's a good one tannerite but I want something to eat not blow it up all over the neighborhood. ..lol
That's what I love about florida on private property u can use any means to eradicate wild pigs no license no tags required. ..
Actually I want to get a spear now to hunt with couldn't do that in anal cali.
And check this out guys once u are 65 yrs old here in florida u don't need licenses to hunt or fish with anymore how cool is that, I have 8 more years to go!
Still planning on dueing an outfitter hunt here, just missed a special for $99.00 for a meat hog hunt sometimes it's between $125.-145 for a meat hog hunt too, still way cheap compared to cali.... tra

Hogs are (generally speaking) transient. They move up and down low-lying areas like creeks and sloughs. I doubt you'll find a bedding area like you would a deer. However, they're suckers for free handouts like corn, whiskey and welfare. Keep the corn going. The rain you've had in the last couple of days is abnormal. You may have a low spot that isn't always flooded. Be patient. You may even have to sip a cup of coffee and watch them feed for a couple of days before you can get the drop on them. But you'll get one; I have no doubt. Between you and them, I'm sure it's coming! Keep us posted!

I am so p.o.ed right now! 20 minutes ago I was in the process of taking care of my wife and it was dejavu. I walk back I to the kitchen and look out my patio and in the back yard are three 200 lb + hogs in the back yard rooting it up where I had put that corn about 3 weeks ago. I tell my wife and leave her on the stool and run our to the garage grab my bow and release knock up an arrow and get ready to ambush one less then 20 yrds away. And soon as I get ready to exit my patio to get the shot my next door neighbors are looking out the window and they are snowbirds who just came back this week I don't know them well yet and the pigs are right on the border of both are yards and property ready to cross into theirs. So I decided not to take the shot I didn't need a pig running around shot and would end up on their property. And i dont know thier feelings about hunting and killing an animal.
I am going to talk to them later if I can and see if there cool with me plugging one and I will share the meat with them.
I guess I will try to track them back into my backyard woods and see if I can find their bedding area and get the job done there.
Here's photos I snapped real quick and there a 2 foot drop right on the edge of my yard so u can only see the top half of them.
Going to get more corn today.
One was pure white one was pure blond and one was pure black, healthy pigs .....tra
God I am bangging my head on the wall right now for holding back u couldn't ask for a better scenario.

I'd have taken the shot and told the neighbors, this is how we handle things in America. How about joining us for a barbecue?
