Edwin, you the man! The way you nailed that Duroc (I mean feral hog) at the water trough was awesome. Just goes to show that with good shot placement (on your fourth shot) anythings possible. Glad to see the time you spent at the range paid off! Most guys would have hit the second (Hampshire) feral hog who kept standing in the way, but you were able to man up and avoid hitting it each time. Props to you and your spotter/camera-woman for a job well done.

gotta be some of the worst shooting I have ever seen. That is a floppy barnyard hog. Get out and do some real hog hunting. If she doesnt want to walk down there, tell her to walk home. Better yet leave her home.

If it was his mom then I am sorry because I missed hearing that because I was watching and hearing " Arnold " screaming and running in circles. I dont know the situation but it looks like he could have laid down his backpack to use for a rest and taken a better first shot. Or maybe Mom should have taken the shot.

Wow, that's a whole lot of shame in two minutes. Who would want to post something like that? Some fuel for green tree huggers. God, what a disgrace.

I dunno'...........we have been blasting hogs in Texas from treestands at a range of from 25 feet to 100 feet and the hogs were baited and are totally unaware of the ambush.........seems like it is all stacked up in our favor and truth be told....I totally enjoyed the experience 110%. Now we have a guy who paid with his own money, to long range shoot a hog and he actually hit it on the first shot, missed on the 2nd and 3rd shot, but delivered the coup de'grace on the last(4rth) shot. I would not put him down because that was his money....that was his fun........and that was his moment in the sun. As for me.........if a friend or an uncle paid the ranch and asked me to shoot the hog...........I would gladly do it. Pork is pork............served with the seasonings and garnishes.......I am ready for dinner. It is legal too. I would not put him down...........he paid for it and got it. Touche!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. Also....if my mother wanted to go out on a ranch hunt with me............I certainly would enjoy my mother's company........she has always been my supporter and encourager....so be it.........I would be proud anytime of my mother's company. I have been happily married for 32 years and my wife has accompanied me on many, many hunts. I am certainly proud to have my wife.....OR MY MOTHER to have as a companion.....even on a hunt. I would never make fun of my mother.

I agree with the above statement that this video should be pulled from this site for several reasons that have already been mention. I'm actually embarassed for this guy and to hear him say "what a great shot". Long range shooting? Are you kidding me? These are the kind of videos the bunny loving, tree hugging, wackos like to go after.

I agree that video shouldn't be on JHO or posted anywhere. I am in NO WAY an anti-hunter, looking forward to a hog hut this weekend in fact, but that video really bothers me. True the guy paid his money and has a right to hunt any way he chooses but if someone dosn't have the ability to make a clean, humain quick kill at that range he shouldn't take the shot. And don't video a animal suffering!!! that isn't what hunting is about. Have some respect for the animal. Dosn't matter if it is just a high-fence pig raised to be hunted.

I totally agree with the point you make about that the gentleman in the video is free to spend his money how he choses. I'm the last person who would tell anyone how they should spend their money or live their lives. I get it; To each his own. However, after watching this video it seems that the majority, including myself, are left with a feeling of distaste. This website is full of passive and diehard hunters who spend countless hours in the field, putting many miles on their boots and tires. Hundreds of topics on this site reference pre-season scouting and endless hunting preparation. So, no matter how many times I/we watch a video like this, It's going to be real hard to generate any true enthusiasm. Personally, I'm happy for the guy. He got to go target shooting and get some pork chops on the same trip. Calling it hunting though, I'm not quite sure? Target shooting at live targets; Maybe? That's another debate for another day. I would love to see one of the you eloquent writers here start that debate (fence or no fence). I'll finish here and let somebody else take over.......
