Video: How local anglers boost salmon numbers

On the eve of the salmon season, great news arrives from the Coastside Fishing Club in Half Moon Bay: – 420,00 juvenile salmon are destined for net pens at Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay. This video, which includes sparkling underwater footage by videographer Doug Laughlin of Coastside Fishing Club, shows 20 club members who volunteered in March to vaccinate the baby salmon at the Feather River Hatchery. In the first year of the program, the club successfully released an estimated 180,000 juvenile salmon last year to the ocean in Half Moon Bay.
