Volta opener

drew volta for the opener.... does anyone know if volta has its own check station or do you use losbanos, never been here before....
is it worth it to bring a kayak, or better to just hump it? thanks for any advice...... got 2 areas planned to try to get to at opening with a decent backup plan....

Has its own check station, better to walk , big place , find big open water with some tule point on it. The water walking can suck. The duck hunting can obviously be good but Seen a lot of first timers struggle in the dark out there ! Good luck

yeah im doing some online scouting and basically finding backups along the same direction so i have options....

Sounds like a good plan. Have a great shoot my wife drew it last year for opener. It was a cinnamon shoot for us. We got our pintails too. Was a fun shoot. Basically we did what I said. Find a good size piece of water with some cover . It will be busy but I like your idea. Have a route planned and keep walking till you find a spot that looked good . Get em!

Avoid the areas that have been disced, as it is hell to walk through. There should be a map at the check station showing the areas that have been disced.

Oh yeah! Volta is in my will as far as where I want me and my old dogs ashes spread! And that's the next time I'm going there . it's not that bad until your stuck in some disc hole while chasing a cripple .

im going to try to hopefully setup near a levy.....kids can chase the birds down.......

There's decent places to walk, there not always the best places to shoot.
