This thread is getting entirely out of hand.
Is that goat spoken for?
Maybe she wants to go on a boat ride on the lake this deer season If Iget any firm commited plans laid out that is. I mean if someone wanted to plan something that is.
Someone!
Well?

And the goats come w/ handle bars!!!!!!

Mike,
You may go up for something like "Time" man of the year for this.

I remember a video at chopper's where a public land warrior finally crosses paths w/a hog on Chopper's.
The dude was out of breath and close to tears.
Hopefully someone else will get that experience soon.

Wow! That would truly be a blessing Mike. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
I will say that Backcountry puts very serious effort into all his hunts. He's hunted LS both by boat and by foot and I can say that there isn't a hill in that country that he won't tackle. Wore my sorry self out climbing around there!

Hey it's my pleasure men, thanks for the cheers. I too pounded the public land for 20 yrs., never did harvest a big game animal. One day I was at the feed store up here, and some old timer was baby talking to my little girl who was in my arms. I think she was 6 months old at the time. As we waited in line, I simply asked if he knew anywhere I could hunt doves in the area, as Sept. 1st was approaching. He asked if I was an electrician..." Well as a matter of fact I am"
<
He told me of an older woman friend of his that had pigs and deer, and some turkeys on her property, but he wasn't sure about the doves

If I could simply fix her stove, she might let me hunt. Not knowing a red wire from a black, I called a buddy and we fixed the stove. I ended up becoming very good friends with her, and my permission spilled onto some neighboring land. So needless to say, I really have been blessed. I know what it's like to hike miles to a spot and have Joe Blow sitting there, through no fault of his own. I hucked up and down the cliffs of Lake Sonoma since the very first hunt, only to miss the only shot I ever got. The first live Elk I ever saw was on public land in Oregon, I called him to 20 yds. , only to stick my arrow in 3 in. jack pine as he turned to leave. That one REALLY hurt. I was caught in a skunk cabbage patch in D6 unable to find a rest as the biggest buck I had ever seen stared me down, missed off-hand inside 100 yds. That one still haunts me. I guess what I'm sayin' is I respect those guys the pound the public land against the odds, and haven't been lucky like me. I need to wait until the deer season is over, then we'll get after some hogs

Mike,

I used to have access to land outside Clayton. A friend I went to HS with's family had 400 acres. Got to hunt that and the ranch behind it anytime I wanted. Had a ton of fun on that place. The pigs were just starting to move into the area when the family sold the place and that ended that. I can appreciate having that opportunity.
