What?........Is WU going to lose the lease on Los Gatos too? That's one thing I don't like about WU. On Palm Ranch try to hunt close to the thickets up on the west side of the Canyon. Also try the flat area by the Cemetary at first light. Good Luck. Now why did you pick Palm Ranch? You could have asked for Long View Tract, Hills Ranch, Gallatin, Mosby, or the Rinconada?

If you want to get onto another ranch i would keep your reservation and call W.U. the closest time to when you want to leave is and see if anyone cancelled. I have heard of people trying 2 weeks before they wanted to go and it was full but then calling back the night before they are going to leave and getting in. So you might want to try that if you want a different ranch.....it can't hurt.

Hey L2H,
Are you inactive this year in WU?

Nofear25, have you or you dad been having any problems making reservations. I use to call atleast 2 to 3 weeks in advance and was normally able to get the ranch I wanted. Just wondering if its still the same. I've heard people say it's getting worse. I'm inactive now, but I'm debating on if I should go active again or stay inactive.

Thanks,

Hey eveyone,
I just got back from Palm ranch and no luck... I didnt see any pig sign at all... It was a really pretty ranch, but the only wildlife i saw was doves, quails, ground squirls, and one fox... I don think i will ever try hunting there for pigs again, but i will go there for quail and dove... kinda disappointed that i didnt atleast see any sign... o well thats huntin.... Mel carter makin a reservation isnt hard at all i called like 3 wks early and got a res. fine.... I had to switch ranches though b/c of lease problems with los gatos creek ranch..

Mel, yes I am inactive this year. WU lost the lease on couple of my favorite ranches. Since then I didn't want to renew but kept my membership inactive just to see if WU would get those ranches back or lease new similar ranches.

Based on my experience with WU reservation system from the past, I could get a reservation to a property but not on my first, second, or third choice property. The only reservation left are with the property that no one wanted to go because they know it's just a walk in the wood.
