Want to Shoot A Pig with my new Muzzle Loader

Hi,
i just ordered a new (first) .50 Cal Muzzle Loader and I really want to shoot a pig with it.
I read that Camp 5 Outiftters is pretty good.

I want a good hunt with no car chases or dogs (at least until I get my black powder pistol).

Any feedback on Camp 5?

Been out there before and loved it. Getting ready to go back in December. The ranch is so big you have to drive to find the pigs. But once you find them, it's on. Check it out.

Camp Five will be around $700 for a pig but it was well worth it the two times I have been there. After your pig you are free to varmint hunt the rest of the time. I don't know of any other outfitters that offer the bonus varmint hunt but there might be some. If you do Camp Five stay at the house they have on the ranch it is totally awesome and well worth the $75 per night. Its a fair chase hunt and you will glass a lot but it is well worth it to me. If the varmint thing isn't of interest to you, you can find a cheaper outfit that just gets you into pigs. Check the guide reviews on this site.

I recommend Frank Morasci of Mustang Guide Services for hog hunts. I was a very, very satisfied customer. Excellent customer service and excellent hog ranches. Reasonable pricewise too, compared with the average guide services. God Bless.

Another second for Frank. Whoever you choose, be upfront with what you want. Make sure you let your desires be known before the hunt begins. Otherwise you may find yourself hauling booty in a pick up to catch up with the herd, or in front of a pack of hounds with a bayed up pig. Most clients just want a pig, by any means, so the guide will employ whatever strategy brings the best chance for success. If you are particular with your hunting methods, you need to discuss that well ahead of time so all is perfectly understood.

Let us know how it goes with your muzzleloader. Is it flintlock?

I have masochistic tendencies and want to handicap myself in hunting. Had the game plentiful, I would be using flintlock myself.

No, it's not a flintlock it's a brand new release which is the first muzzle loader I've found that really appealed to me.
